1,5,3,6,2,4 this is for the 89 straight six wich is what i think your talking about rotation is clockwise,, on the engine itself front to back is 1,2,3,4,5,6........ the timing specs are 10 degrees the spark plug gap is .044 in the thousanths per inch scale..

compress the spring,, then unbolt the strut thne remove them together,, then put your new strut inside and put it back in place bolt the new strut in then release the spring,, be reall carefull with that spring mak sure you get spring compressor on there good you do not want it to get away from you..

i just look it up and have saved the instrutions, and pictures to a file witch i can send to you, if you leave a email address, can't post links on this site but if you leave a email i can send it to you.. if you can follow these instructions i don't see why you can't do it by your self..
